The IHS Board of Directors, Officers, and Staff are volunteers, and they pay their annual dues like the other IHS members. The modest IHS dues do not go for salaries, but are used, to cover the monthly charge of the home page internet provider, to print and mail the newsletter and other informative materials, to purchase the plaques for IHS awards, etc. The cost of dinner meetings held in the Washington DC area is recovered through the price of admission to these events.
* Regular
members have the option of receiving their copy of the quarterly
newsletter as hard copy by surface mail. Student members
and Sustaining Members
are
presumed to be computer literate and therefore receive the
electronic version of the newsletter (it is easy to print out the
electronic newsletter on your own printer if you want a hard
copy).
