Rodriques RHS200


Foils- Configured in a tandem configuration they are of the surface-piercing type. Built in high tensile steel they are of hollow construction. A set of trailing edge flaps placed on both foils are provided.

Hull - The lines of the craft are V-shaped. The hull is built in seawater resistant light metal alloy with longitudinal framings at 300mm spacing. The hull is divided into watertight compartments to comply with current regulations.

Rudders Two sets of rudders are foreseen. Two flap rudders are fitted to the aft foil strut while a single flap rudder is fitted to the centre strut of the fore foil.

Engines Two, of the diesel supercharged type manufactured by MTU coupled with marine reversing gears.

Propellors Two of the fixed type 3 bladed, are installed to better exploit engine power.

SAC A Seakeeping Augmentation Controller designed and built by the Rodriquez Electronics department is provided.

Fire-fighting A fixed CO2 system is installed to provide service in the engine room. Portable CO2 bottles are fitted in various parts of the craft as required by rules and regulations. A sea water fire fighting system is also installed.

Air conditioning An air conditioning system is installed in all passenger saloons as well as in the wheelhouse.

Hydraylics Steering and flaps are electro-hydraulically controlled from the wheelhouse.

Accomodation Passenger accommodations are modern aircraft style seats. Reclining seats with tray can be fitted. Bar services as well as duty-free services can be provided upon request.

Electrical Equipment Two generating sets consisting of diesel engines and brushless alternators at 220V, three phase, 50 Hz, are installed to provide power for all the electrical services of the ship. Radio batteries are also installed and will be charged from DC generators or from a battery charger.

Navigational aids A radar, medium wave radio, VHF, Loran and/or satellite navigator are foreseen. An autopilot can also be installed.

Miscellaneous systems The hydrofoil is equipped with all the necessary systems such as fuel, sea water, fresh water, lube oil, bilge systems.
