The Rodriquez RHS-160 series, of which CERES is an example, is a 101-foot long hydrofoil configured to carry from 160 to 200 passengers. At 85 tons, its two supercharged MTU diesel engines with an output of 1,950 hp each give this hydrofoil a speed of 36 knots. The configuration of the RHS-160 foils was unique in that -- although surface-piercing in design -- they described a "W" from a bow view. The RHS-160 features a bow rudder working in conjunction with the aft rudders for improved maneuverability.
