The Sydney Harbour hydrofoil, Long Reef, approaching Manly wharf, c. 1988. A type PT50, it had a length of 29m, top speed of 40 knots and carried 110 passengers. Built in Sicily by Rodriquez, the "Long Reef" arrived in Sydney in April 1978 from Aliscafi SNAV (Italy). The hydrofoils were sold back to Italy in 1992 upon introduction of the JetCats.
