This a rare US NAVY BRONZE plaque dating from the late 1960's. PCH - Patrol Craft Hydrofoil was a developmental project for applying Hydrofoil technology to Navy patrol craft. According to the retired naval officer who was presented this plaque, after many problems with the blades and stability, the project was terminated. In addition, funding for this project was being shifted to other Vietnam-related priorities. After the Navy terminated the project, a large defense contractor continued working with the hydrofoil technology. Several years later, the commerical aplication of Hydrofoil became a reality in the use of Hydrofoils in Italy between Capri and the mainlaind. The unique bronze plaque measures 7 inches by 10 inches.
