Welcome to the second in the International Hydrofoil Society's series of Advanced Marine Vehicle technical and historical documents on CD-ROM. This CD-ROM contains a collection of valuable technical and historical material. Some of this material was previously classified, but has now been declassified. To keep the price low, the CD-ROM was assembled and reproduced on a "best efforts", minimum-expense basis. The original scanning has been edited to some degree, and Table of Contents "hot links" were inserted to enhance several of the documents.
This guide contains instructions for accessing the document files on the CD-ROM and abstracts for all of the documents.
Instructions on how to order additional copies of this CD-ROM, and how to order the first AMV CD-ROM, can be found on the internet at www.foils.org/ihspubs.htm. Copies can be ordered on line with payment by credit card from more than 35 countries.
Getting Started
You will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader (version 4.0 or higher) to open the various files. If you don't already have Acrobat Reader, you can download this free program via the IHS web site: www.foils.org.
Future Plans
It is intended to offer a third CD-ROM in the Advanced Marine Vehicles series when other documents can be scanned and added to the first edition.
