The IHS Sequence Number
is the first part of the file name for each document on the CD-ROM. Each abstract in this index cites the IHS Sequence Number for the corresponding file. Thus the IHS Sequence Number can be used to quickly locate and open a file based on its abstract in the index.

Note: Unfortunately, the free Acrobat Reader does not offer the capability to open files directly from links in the index... thus the somewhat awkward procedure to open a file individually after noting its IHS Sequence Number in its corresponding abstract.
